Network Marketing Prospecting- Who Do I Talk To?
Posted on 10. Aug, 2008 by Vince Cianci in Network Marketing Prospecting, Network Marketing Training
When I first started my Network Marketing career some 4 years ago I started prospecting my friends and family like I was told. The thing was they didn’t care about my new ‘Network Marketing Business Opportunity’. They did care about me though and gave me some ‘sympathy sales’ to encourage me.
That’s no way to build a million dollar business.
If you were to stand on the corner and ask each person as they walked by, ‘Would you like to earn extra money, even replace your current income?’, most would say ‘Yes Of course’! Fact is most of them would be a waste of time. You must find out which of these people will DO something. To do this I use a process I call Disqualifying. Sort, don’t sell. Do this as fast as possible to find the ones who are truly interested. That is Marketing.
I ask 2 questions to my suspects ‘suspects before prospects’. The first question relates to their reason ‘WHY’ they would be looking in the first place. I ask,
‘If there was one thing you wanted to be, do or have but never could because you were going to die today, What would that one thing be that you would regret NOT doing in your lifetime?
This question gets the person to give you their ultimate goal. If someone asked me that question I would say Racing cars around Australia. That’s my passion and ultimate goal.
The second and last question I ask which determines whether I walk away and let them stay as a suspect or turns them into a real prospect is this. ‘What are you currently doing to achieve that……(Their Answer)? There are only 2 possible answers to this question. The wrong answer would be Nothing. The correct answer is anything but. If they say “I’ve just got my racing car license or I go to the race track every week, or I volunteer my time working on cars to learn, then that tells me they are actively seeking out their goal, and actively advancing toward the attainment of that goal and therefore now qualifying themselves as a ‘Prospect’ and for my time. The I get them to the next step.
Make sense? Happy prospecting. Leave the suspects to someone else.
