How To Network
Posted on 17. Sep, 2008 by Vince Cianci in Network Marketing Prospecting, Network Marketing Training
The term Networking can be seen as a dirty word in many circles, and for many it brings the image of forced meeting and greeting which leads to superficial encounters with other people who want something from you. This is bad networking at its worst.
Networking is not just about collecting a stack of business cards, but building a like minded community of people with who you actually engage with, without having an immediate business motive ie trying to recruit them into your business.
Successful Networker’s don’t focus on people who can ‘help me’ but instead they focus on building the relationship first. People who are in relationship driven networks generally share information with each other regardless of whether there is anything ‘in it for me’. This is where the power of networking lies. The more information you have, the greater your chance to access opportunities or introduce your business at that stage.
Remember, it’s not about the number of contacts you have, but about the quality of the relationship that you have with them that truly counts. Just like any other relationship whether that be with family or friends, your business relationships thrive on being respected, developed and nurtured.
