Although Google almost ‘Owns Everything’ reports still have Facebook delivering more traffic than Google to some big-name sites. Facebook gets over a third of the number of unique visitors that Google does according to comScore which continues to grow. Compete shows the lines between Google and Facebook slowely getting closer together:

Facebook in BLUE & Google in GREEN. See graph below.

Internet browser are going to Google to figure out where to get the info they’re after whereas they go to Facebook to, well, hang out. If Facebook’s growth continues the way it has been, perhaps it should be considered Google’s greatest threat (when I say threat, I mean competition. Much of the Facebook delivered traffic comes from links that members post via areas like the ‘Notes’ & ‘Boxes’ application areas on Facebook. I’ve pasted a screenshot from My Facebook Profile below showing the ‘Notes’ tab in the small circle and the ‘Actual Notes’ in the larger circle on the right.

If you cant see the image click this link which takes you to my live ‘Notes’ Page.

Each time I write a post, it’s automatically sent to my ‘Notes’ section of my profile. When my friends login to their own accounts they will see that I’ve written a new note, then open that note and more than likely go to the actual website or at least view the information that I am wanting to share. I have the same set up with My Myspace Profile. Both these 2 sites currently deliver me more traffic than Google. In saying this Google traffic can take a while to bring in with FREE however my Myspace & facebook traffic not to leave out Twitter all bring in a ton thats all FREE.

On the same subject of Twitter, I logged into My Twitter Profile today only to see talk that people’s Facebook friends are removing them because of all the ‘Tweets’ throughout the day clogging up their newsfeeds!! On the same token Twitterers are removing their facebook friends who are not fellow Twitterers!! Where will this all end???

So go and take the time to interlink your Social Networking sites into your blog or website or even any affiliate links you might be using to grow your database or business. It’s free, it’s instantaneous and it’s a great way to start out while your building up your organic free Google traffic. Enjoy.

I installed a great Twitter Plugin on my blog just the other day which allows my readers to Tweet my blog posts that they find worthwhile of sharing with their followers. It helps with viral marketing in the sense that readers are able to help direct some traffic to my blog. While that is great news for me it is my responsibility to make sure that my posts contain valuable information that is sharable. That’s what Social Networking is all about after all.

So with that said for those of you with WordPress Blogs you can download the Tweet This Post Plugin Here. It took all of 2 minutes to install it onto my server which hosts my blog and another 5 minutes of playing with the settings to get it to do what I wanted. The Plugin link above comes with screen shots so you’ll see exactly what it will look like once installed on your blog. The whole process is very simple & easy. I LOVE WORDPRESS!!.

In my search for Twitter tools I found the 10 Best Twitter Tools For WordPress Blogs. Simply pick and choose which one you want.
